WOOD COUNTY, Wis. (WAOW)– The ski and tubing hills at Powers Bluff Winter Recreation Area will be open this weekend, the first two days of January.
There will be two tubing sessions each day, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
The ski resort will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tow tickets are $12 per session or $20 for a day pass, tubing comes with your tow ticket.
Snowshoe rentals are available and the boiler room will be open with concessions. You are asked to bring your own snowboards and skis as there are only limited rentals available.
The multi-use trails of Powers Bluff and Richfield County Forest 360 will be wrapped and opened for use. These trails are open to snowshoeing, fat biking and cross-country skiing.
Cross-country ski trails in Nepko Lake Park will also be packed, there is a separate single track trail in the park for snowshoeing, hiking and fat biking.
A pass must be purchased before using any of the winter groomed trails. Passes can be purchased at the Parks and Forests office or at the start of each trail.
The Department of Parks and Forests asks all humans and pets to stay off maintained trails during the winter months.
Snowmobile trails remain closed for the time being.
