When buying a gas oven, it is important to consider the main technical characteristics, including power, type of cleaning, energy efficiency class.
How to choose a gas oven
When choosing a gas oven, be sure to look at the energy consumption of the structure. Classes A, A+, A++ are considered the most economical. Appliances with medium power are classified as class B, and devices with high energy consumption are classified as C.
Ovens with a standard set of functions are used to prepare simple dishes, multifunctional ones have additional features.
Before installation, you should decide on the volume of the device: it can hold from 20 to 160 liters.
The type of door can be hinged, folding and retractable. The first one opens in the same way as standard doors. The folding design is the most common, but the retractable design is the most convenient.
Switches can be rotary, touch and recessed. Touch switches are more attractive, but they often show marks, recessed switches are most often found on premium models.
Convection means that hot air is distributed throughout the oven. It is very good when you can choose such programs: top and bottom heat, intensive heating, defrosting, grill, convection.
New designs allow you to choose the degree of roasting intensity, in the settings of many devices there are convenient programs that provide different modes for pizza, meat, poultry, fish.
As a rule, devices are equipped with manual switches, but there are models with electronic control. Such a system allows you to maximize the capabilities of ovens, set a specific time and temperature.
A skewer is necessary if you often cook meat or poultry, it will help to make the dish tastier. The temperature probe is used to monitor temperature conditions, you can determine the degree of roasting of meat products.
When choosing an oven, pay attention to the type of cleaning. Work surfaces can be traditionally cleaned. When using a catalytic system, the fan walls are covered with a special protective enamel. The hydrolytic method is more efficient than others, but it takes a lot of time.

Electric stoves are an alternative to gas appliances due to their practicality, economy and multitasking. Modern models of electric stoves amaze with a variety of design solutions and functionality, which sometimes makes the choice of this kitchen equipment problematic for consumers.
To make a bargain, it is important to know the intricacies of choosing an electric stove. The choice of an electric stove begins with a consideration of the technical and operational characteristics.
Types and characteristics of electric stoves
Depending on the model and functional features, electric stoves have 1–6 burners. They differ in the type of heating element, heating rate, diameter, working power and shape.
heating elements;
Hi Light;
Halo Light;
induction.
heating elements
A simple and affordable option for heating elements that are used in electric stoves. They are easy to operate and repair. Cast iron elements are classic, automatic and express heating. Such material retains heat, is resistant to damage and corrosion.
Classical heaters are evenly painted in dark color, express elements in the middle are equipped with a red indicator, automatic heaters are white. Express heaters provide a high heating rate. At the same time, automatic analogues are equipped with built-in temperature sensors to determine the rate of boiling water and adjust the heating power.
Classical heaters are used for cooking everyday meals, express burners – for heating food in 10 minutes, automatic elements – for boiling water.
Hi–Light
Hi-Light burners are practical and functional elements that are equipped with glass-ceramic devices. They heat up in 2-3 seconds, are equipped with smooth power control. Inside such elements are special corrugated tapes for rapid heating.
Halo Light
Record holders in heating are halogen burners – Halo-Light. The basis of the element is halogen (gas), which, when heated, releases a large amount of energy. Elements of this type quickly heat up and cool down rapidly.
induction
They differ from their predecessors in terms of the principle of operation. Induction hobs heat the bottom of the cookware, while the hob stays cold. This is possible thanks to a special induction type block that produces an electromagnetic field.
The elements provide fast heating (up to 3 minutes), which reduces the time for cooking.
Power adjustment is stepless. For induction heaters, it is recommended to use dishes made of modern materials with a ferromagnetic bottom.
The shape of the burners are: oval, round, with an extended zone (and without it). The extended zone is represented by two adjacent rings. Depending on the dish and the duration of cooking, an external or internal heating ring is used.
Hob material
Hobs are glass-ceramic or enamelled.
enamelled
This is a classic version of the surfaces that most electric stoves are equipped with. They are practical, unpretentious in operation, cheap, have a wide range of colors. The disadvantages are susceptibility to scratches, chips, deformations, difficulty in removing scale and grease stains.
Glass-ceramic
This coating for the hob has taken a leading position due to its unique performance characteristics. Glass ceramics withstand high temperatures (up to 550 degrees), it is easy to clean, has low thermal conductivity, and is resistant to deformation and damage.
Appliances with a glass-ceramic hob provide an electronic control type and are equipped with the necessary thermal indicators. With proper care, this surface will last for many years.
Despite the positive characteristics, even glass ceramics has disadvantages. Such material is sensitive to point impacts, which can lead to cracks and chips. If the surface is damaged, the device requires urgent repair.
Dimensions
Electric stoves are presented in floor and desktop versions. Desktop counterparts are compact and easy to use, differ in small size, weight and cost. This is an option for country houses, cottages and change houses, where it is not possible to install full-size outdoor devices.
Floor-standing devices are intended for stationary use, differ in size and weight. Such devices are free-standing and built into the kitchen set. With a standard height of 85 cm, a depth of 50 and 60 cm, the width is 50–85 cm.
If necessary, the height is adjusted due to the adjustable legs, which some models are equipped with. Ergonomic devices are chosen for small-sized kitchens, other sizes are for standard kitchen spaces.
Oven
All modern models of electric stoves are equipped with ovens – static or multifunctional.
Static
Models with static type ovens are equipped with two heating elements – upper and lower. They have a grill at the top of the oven. They ensure uniform processing of products from all sides.
Some models are equipped with a small or large grill. The large grill is suitable for roasting fish, meat, casseroles and other dishes, and the small grill is suitable for cooking small portions – pizza, toast, pastries.
Ovens of a static type in terms of price are attractive compared to multifunctional counterparts.
Multifunctional
Ovens of this type operate on the principle of convection and uniform distribution of heated air by a fan over the entire area of the oven. In addition, in such cabinets you can cook different dishes, reheat food, defrost semi-finished products, grill and steam.
In them, food is cooked evenly, which avoids burnt or raw dishes.
The standard set of cabinets includes baking sheets – deep and regular (up to 3 pcs), a skewer for grilling and shish kebab, grills with different thicknesses of rods.
When choosing an electric stove, you should also pay attention to the method of cleaning the cabinet – catalytic or pyrolysis.
catalytic cleaning It is provided in ovens, the walls of which are covered with heat-resistant enamel. Care of such a surface consists in wet cleaning with a soft cloth or napkin using non-aggressive detergents.
Pyrolysis involves cleaning the inner chamber of the oven after heating to 450-500 degrees. At this temperature, the contaminants burn out, after which the walls are wiped with a dry cloth.
Functions of electric stoves
Models of devices of a cheap and medium price segment have a standard functional set, which is enough for daily cooking. Additional operational parameters are provided in multifunctional expensive models.
Timer. It programs the operating time of the oven or burner on the hob. Electric stoves are provided with electronic and mechanical timers. Electronic analogues provide turning on / off the burners in automatic mode by the set time. Mechanical options include manual shutdown of the burner or oven after an audible signal.
Steam outlet. This function avoids heating and contamination of the operating handles.
Memory. The function allows you to save the set cooking parameters for various dishes.
Boiling water control. The function is provided for timely protection against boiling water.
Thermal indicator. Allows you to monitor the temperature of the heating surface during cooking. When the temperature drops to 60 degrees, it becomes inactive.
Function of recognition of utensils made of metal. The hotplate heats up when a pan made of metal is placed on it. When empty dishes are placed, the heating is automatically turned off.
Fast food preparation. A function that allows you to cook semi-finished products in the oven.
Recessed control knobs, blocking the oven, drawers for dishes.
Having understood the parameters for choosing an electric stove and making an informed decision, you can safely go to the store for a purchase.
The right choice of a gas stove is a complex and responsible process that requires a rational approach. Kitchen equipment of this type is in demand and popular among the inhabitants, so many people prefer gas stoves.
Slabs have advantages and disadvantages that are important to keep in mind before making a purchase.
Pros of gas stoves
This is a versatile household appliance that is designed for quick and easy cooking of a variety of dishes. Cookers of this type are unpretentious and practical in operation, besides, they save energy, if equipped with gas ovens.
Additional functionality allows you to set the temperature mode for heating the burners and the speed of cooking.
Minuses
If safety rules are not observed during installation, a household gas stove can cause accidents. In this case, it is better to entrust the installation, connection and configuration to professionals. Devices need periodic cleaning and maintenance. Taking into account the operational features, the plates are limited in the choice of installation location, they are mounted only near the gas pipeline.
Despite the complexity of use and maintenance, consumers prefer to buy gas stoves. To buy a suitable model, it is recommended to consider the following selection parameters:
Dimensions;
Type of hob;
Types of burners;
Oven;
Additional functions.
Characteristics of gas stoves
Dimensions
This parameter is related to the dimensions of kitchen furniture. The height is standard for all models – 85 cm, but the depth is 50 and 60 cm. The width can vary from 35 cm to 1 meter (exclusive options with 6 burners).
Gas stoves are equipped with legs for changing the height. Compact narrow models are suitable for small kitchens, full-sized and large-sized – for large and spacious rooms.
A separate category is represented by plates for desktop installation. These are compact devices for 2 burners with dimensions of 12X50X34 cm, for 3 (4) burners – 23X50X55 cm.
hob type
Working hobs are made of durable, wear-resistant materials – glass ceramics, stainless and enameled steel.
Stainless steel
Durable, practical and heat-resistant material, resistant to corrosion and chemicals. The stainless steel surface is matte and polished. These look stylish and modern. They are characterized by high wear resistance and durability.
However, stainless steel hobs are demanding and whimsical to maintain. They leave traces of grease, scale, color streaks and liquid stains. Daily care of such a surface consists in the use of detergents that do not contain abrasive substances.
enamelled steel
Another version of the steel hob covered with a protective layer of heat-resistant enamel. They are presented in two colors – white and brown, they belong to the traditional type of household products. Enamelled surfaces are durable, reliable and inexpensive. Despite the simplicity and unpretentiousness, such material has a number of disadvantages: it is difficult to clean, susceptible to scratches, chips and damage.
glass ceramics
Surfaces of this type have occupied a separate segment of the market. They are represented in the product lines of leading manufacturers. The surface has a protective layer of heat-resistant glass-ceramic or durable glass.
Such material:
reliable;
resistant to mechanical damage;
resistant to deformation;
resistant to high temperatures.
With proper operation, glass-ceramic surfaces are practical and unpretentious in care.
Glass-ceramic models are available in two colors – brown and black, there are glass-ceramic devices in white.
Burner types
The choice of suitable burner parameters depends on the functional load on the stove and the frequency of cooking. Plates with 4 burners are considered traditional, models with 3, 5 and 6 elements of different sizes and levels of flame burning are also available.
The burner size is determined by the type and power of the nozzle through which gas is supplied. Suitable dimensions correspond to the diameter of the bottom of the dish. On the classic hob there are 4 burners – 1 powerful, 2 medium in power and 1 low power. The diameter of the burners is 5, 7 and 10 cm.
Some models are equipped with a powerful fast-cooking nozzle containing several flame exit rings. There are elements with 2-4 rings of flame. Contour burners are used for frying, boiling in water and steaming, smoking and stewing.
The burners also differ in shape, they are oval, round and triangular.
Oven
Modern stoves are available with two types of ovens: gas and electric.
Gas
Cabinets of this type are less economical and convenient to use. Although the dishes cooked in them are especially tasty. Classic gas ovens are equipped with a dual heating mode, but do not have a fan. For lower heating, a burner is used, for upper heating, an electric or gas grill is used.
Grill types:
Practical and economical gas grill gives an effect similar to cooking on charcoal.
An electric grill provides uniform processing of products, has a higher cost.
Many manufacturers offer multi-functional ovens equipped with hollow burners with forced air circulation. This ensures faster and more uniform cooking with a crispy crust.
Electrical
Ovens of this type are presented in standard and multifunctional versions. Classic ovens are equipped with top and bottom tubular heaters, a spit, a grill and a natural convection function.
Multifunctional cabinets are equipped with a fan and 4 heater elements – top, bottom, sides and rear panel. Ovens allow you to cook various dishes with the ability to adjust the temperature.
Modern models of devices with gas and electric ovens are equipped with reliable thermal insulation made of heat-resistant laminated glass.
All models have LED lighting for switching on the burners and designs for trays with retractable mechanisms.
Cleaning the oven
Catalytic and pyrolytic methods are used to clean the inside of the oven.
catalytic cleaning – present in cheap models, carried out when the oven is heated to 250 degrees. After completion, the chamber must be wiped with a damp sponge and mild detergents.
Pyrolytic cleaning – provided in expensive models, carried out when the chamber is heated to 600 degrees. This contributes to the burning out of food debris and fat deposits on the walls and turning them into ash, which is easily removed with a damp sponge.
Functions
Modern stoves are equipped with new and improved features to improve the operation process. These include: electric ignition function, gas control system, child protection function and timer.
Electric ignition function
Implemented by a special button on the control panel, provides for safe ignition of the burners. In elite models, this system is combined with gas supply adjustment knobs. In the absence of electricity, the ignition ceases to function.
Gas control system
Provides for automatic shutdown of gas supply to the burners in case of leakage or flame extinction. The reliability of the system is ensured by special sensors that react to the activity of the flame in the burner, blocking the stem.
The gas control system is combined with automatic ignition. Re-ignition is carried out several times, with a low supply pressure of the ignitable mixture or frequent flame extinction, the gas is turned off until the problem is corrected.
Child lock function
It securely blocks the work. When the function is activated, access to the hob or oven is prohibited, which allows you to avoid unpleasant situations. In the absence of parents, children will not be able to turn on the stove on their own.
Timer
The devices are equipped with mechanical or electric timers with an audible signal. They set the time intervals required for cooking. At the end of the time, the timer notifies you of the need to turn off, using an audible signal.
Before you go shopping for a gas stove, you should decide on the technical characteristics and functional features.
Until recently, household stoves were divided only according to the principle of operation – gas or electricity, and when buying, there were no questions about how this or that model works. But today, with the development of new technologies and the improvement of household appliances, manufacturers offer consumers the usual units, and modern modernized designs.
Induction cookers are the result of modernization of familiar household appliances. It is worth laying out the facts in more detail about how they work and what they are. Physical action applies only to the hob, the oven is electric with thermal heating elements.
How an induction cooker works
It may seem strange how this type of equipment works, because during the heating process, the dishes are heated, not the burner. The secret lies in the use of a physical phenomenon in the operation of the equipment.
It uses the technology of inducing eddy currents on an installed metal object. Such a result is created by magnetic fields of frequency from 20 to 100 kHz.
Outwardly, it is a glass-ceramic hob, with touch temperature controls. Cooking timers, panel lock buttons are installed on the equipment.
The use of such a technique involves the purchase of special metal utensils. The stoves also work with the usual metal utensils, but then the energy consumption and cooking time may increase.
What is the secret of dishes designed for use on such equipment? The secret lies in the structure of the bottom of the pots or pans. The bottom of such dishes is thick and a layer of ferromagnetic material is laid in its structure.
The hostess may already have such devices in the house. Modern samples are indicated by a special spiral sign, which means compatibility with induction.
Old-style dishes are also used on such equipment, and if there is no sign, then its suitability is checked by applying a magnet to the bottom. If magnetization occurs, then this instance is suitable for further use.
Pros and cons of induction cookers
Appliances with induction heating technology, on average, are more expensive than heated glass-ceramic surfaces. Is it worth it to overpay? And what benefits will the buyer receive after the acquisition?
Advantages:
Reduced level of electricity consumption. The heating temperature is set simultaneously with the inclusion of the burner, no preheating is required, all the voltage is given immediately to the dishes.
The diameter of the dishes is not limited. If for ceramic the selection of dishes depends solely on the diameter of the burners, then here the heating occurs only on the contact surface of the installed object. The handles of the dishes do not heat up, the heat generated by the burners is not wasted.
Safely. In the turmoil, at least once every person had a situation where he forgot to turn off the stove. After such cases, the burners burned out, considerable numbers ran up on the indicators of electric meters. Cooktops of this kind prevent dangerous situations from occurring. Without the dishes installed on them, they cannot work and turn off. The panel does not heat up during operation, it heats up only from the bottom of the dish.
Reducing or Enlarging temperature level occurs instantly.
The plate is covered with glass-ceramic. Care for her is available to any housewife using special cleaning products and scrapers.
In contrast to the advantages of induction heating, there are also negative distinguishing features:
High price. Yes, such equipment will cost 1.5 – 2 times more when buying, but you should think about the future reduction in electricity consumption. A properly selected stove will pay off in the near future. But choosing expensive samples is also not worth it, the functions stated in the characteristics are not used in everyday life.
If the house did not find suitable dishes, then you will have to update the entire range – pans, pots, stewpans, etc. Kitchen utensils suitable for this type of household appliances are more expensive, which will incur additional costs.
There are not so many disadvantages, and they all relate to the financial side. But once you invest in a purchase, you can save on electricity for several more years.
Problems
Cookers operating on induction heating technology have not been in demand for a long time in the household appliances market. And the reason is not only the high price, but also myths and prejudices.
Harm to the human body
The opinion that the technology incorporated in the principle of operation of the equipment can harm the human body. People feared that the magnetic field created during work affects the internal organs. In order to destroy the false opinions that have developed regarding induction panels, manufacturers compared the power of the fields generated from this device and from a household hair dryer, which housewives use quite often.
The results were incredible. The hair dryer creates a field with an indicator of 2000 micro Tesla, and the hob – 22 micro Tesla – this is almost 10 times less! The strength of such a magnetic field cannot affect human health in any way!
Turning on the stove from any metal object
People believe that any metal object can trigger the burner to turn on and will heat up. This statement is not true.
As already mentioned, for work you need dishes that can be attracted by a magnet, but not all metal kitchen appliances have such qualities.
Sensors built into the slab design are set to a minimum diameter of 8-12cm. In the event that the area of the heated surface is less than this indicator, then heating will not be performed.
Metal objects under the stove heat up
It is an erroneous opinion that the installation of a recessed panel cannot be above other devices or any metal surfaces.
Yes, the generated electromagnetic field, in theory, leads to heating of objects on the surface and under it. This statement took place at a time when induction cookers were just beginning to be produced.
Modern models are equipped with a magnetic heat sink located at the bottom of the hob body. Its purpose is to block the penetration of magnetic fields through the bottom of the case.
Therefore, today manufacturers also produce combined models with ovens, and designed for embedding in kitchen furniture above dishwashers or other equipment.
How to choose an induction cooker
Like other household appliances, induction surfaces have characteristics that can affect the choice of a particular product in a store – these are design, functional characteristics, manufacturer’s name and price.
Design features when choosing stoves include: free-standing equipment in combination with an oven, tabletop or built-in models, the size and shape of the equipment.
Free-standing household appliances with induction heating are rarely found in stores today, no more than 20 copies. Such models do not require additional purchase of ovens, are installed in any free space, do not take up space on the table, and are not built into the countertop.
Desktop devices are equipment with one or two burners, no more. They do not require additional installation conditions, in addition, some models are designed to work under 220W voltage.
The range of built-in models of induction appliances presented in stores is incredibly wide. In online stores, the number of models offered is even greater. Built-in models look attractive complete with all kitchen equipment, do not require a separate place for installation.
The shapes of household appliances are the usual square or rectangular, but there are also hexagonal built-in models. Sizes are able to meet the wishes of any consumer. The main condition, before going to the store for a purchase, is to accurately measure the place where the unit will be installed.
Functional characteristics that require attention when choosing:
the number of burners and their location;
the presence of a combination in the device, induction burners and with a heating element. For some users, the combined device will have a positive effect, because you won’t have to throw out the old dishes, but for others it will serve as a rejection of this model.
touchpad lock, a feature that will protect a home with young children from unpleasant consequences;
safety shutdown, an option in the presence of which the liquid escaping from the pan will provoke the shutdown of the system and burning to the surface will not occur. Shutdown also occurs when foreign objects get on the control panel;
the shutdown timer will allow you to program the stove for the required time, and be distracted by other things. She herself will turn off the burner and notify with a signal that the program is running;
The residual heat indicator indicates that the surface has warmed up from the surface of the cookware. It burns as long as the surface cools, and goes out when it becomes safe;
multi-stage burner power adjustment. a greater number of adjustment steps – makes it possible to more accurately adjust the cooking temperature;
PowerBoost is a function that will increase the power of the included burner at the expense of the neighboring one by 50%;
the keep warm function keeps pre-cooked meals at a predetermined temperature;
the pause function temporarily stops cooking, so that it can be resumed at the touch of a button, keeping all the set cooking modes.
induction without borders allows the installation of kitchen utensils of any diameter on the surface.
Pricing
The cost of induction cookers is affected by: manufacturer, functionality, size, number of burners, design, construction. Before you go shopping, you need to clearly define the requirements for the future main household appliance in the kitchen.
It is not rational to rely only on the popularity of the manufacturer; equipment manufacturers may not advertise their products. Orientation by price may not be relevant either. Stores set prices according to their desires.
It will be correct to take into account the functionality of the model of interest. Additional features increase the price, so you should consider the need for one or another option in your life.
Precautionary measures
An induction cooker is a device that works by means of power from the mains. And like any other electrical equipment, it must be used with care.
The connection must be only to the mains, with the appropriate voltage indicated in the characteristics.
Blocking the air intake panel can cause the equipment to overheat.
The equipment must be protected from water ingress under the housing.
To clean such a device, you must first disconnect it from the network.
For a pleasant stay in the country, the owners create comfortable conditions. The first problem that summer residents face is cooking. Especially if a lot of time is spent in the countryside. Accordingly, there is a need to purchase a plate.
By type, the technique is divided into desktop and stationary. According to the principle of operation, there are gas and electric appliances.
Types of plates for giving
If the summer cottage is located in a gardening partnership where main gas is provided, then they choose devices for cooking in the same way as for a city apartment. Otherwise, a special nozzle is purchased for the operation of equipment on liquefied gas.
Models are available with grills, which makes cooking more convenient. Detachable design is easy to clean in the dishwasher. The cooking surface does not require special care.
For summer cottages, it is better to buy gas stoves with options that increase safety in the house. The “gas-control” function automatically stops the gas supply when the flame suddenly goes out.
You should not buy overall equipment if the kitchen in the house is less than 20 cubic meters. m. The hob is chosen with two or four gas burners. The main criteria for choosing equipment are the number of residents and the time spent in the country.
It is not advisable to choose models with a grill or barbecue, as their cost is much higher. And such functionality can easily replace the barbecue in the yard.
A universal option will be hybrid equipment, which simultaneously combines gas and electric nozzles. You can live in a country house with a full-fledged unit all season.
Advantages of gas stoves for summer cottages:
The advantages of these models are ergonomics. If in the future it is planned to carry out main gas in a horticultural partnership, then it will be easy to switch equipment from liquefied blue fuel.
Cylinder gas is a self-contained equipment that is easy to operate.
The cost of the gas resource is low, so it will not entail monetary waste.
It is more rational to use such devices in country conditions, since there are interruptions in electricity in suburban areas. This leads to equipment failure.
Electric stoves for summer cottages
When choosing an electric model, first of all, technical and operational characteristics are taken into account. Quality and functionality depend on the financial side of the summer resident.
Electrical equipment with an oven expands the home menu. Experienced housewives know that during the canning period, the oven is an indispensable tool for sterilizing containers. And in the berry-fruit season in the country, you can pamper your loved ones with a variety of pastries.
Electric stoves are divided according to the type of hob.
TEN plates for giving
Despite the outdated appearance, TEN units are indispensable helpers in the country.
The advantages of such models include:
low cost;
maintainability.
Glass-ceramic
Electric stoves with a glass-ceramic surface heat up more slowly and cool down longer. Durable coating is not whimsical in care, easy to clean. They are considered a safe option compared to gas equipment.
But the coating does not tolerate dirty dishes, it cannot be subjected to mechanical stress. And the dishes are selected in accordance with certain requirements.
induction
Induction cooktops use much less electricity than other types. New technologies have improved the safety of equipment during operation.
The surface of the panel does not heat up without dishes. However, the cost of such models is higher. Plus, they require the purchase of special dishes. Such costs are not appropriate for suburban conditions.
Based on the technical characteristics, TEN plates are an excellent country option. Electric stoves are selected according to size and functional parameters. For example, a timer and a display will help you prepare a dish at the right time. At the same time, you do not need to give up summer cottages and cook dinner.
The design and dimensions of the plate when choosing fade into the background. It is important to take into account the power indicators of the device, the electrical wiring must be with a power reserve, for example, with a total load of up to 6 kW, wiring with a cross section of 2.5 is enough2mm.
The electric stove should be easy to maintain and not take up much space. For a family of two or three people, a model with one or two burners is suitable.
Advantages of electric stoves:
The dacha is not a place of permanent residence, so it is important to take care of the safety in the house. When the switch is off, the electrical appliance is safe.
If the hostess does not want to spend a lot of time cooking, an induction hob will be an excellent option. With her, there will be time for rest and gardening.
Unlike gas stoves that run on liquefied gas, electrical appliances do not need constant monitoring of the consumed resource.
Table stoves for summer cottages
The purchase of a stationary stove for a small country house becomes problematic. In this case, it is more advisable to buy a mobile cooking appliance. By type of work, desktop stoves are divided into electric and gas. Comes with one or two burners.
Gas desktop stove for giving
Portable appliances powered by natural gas are an indispensable assistant in a small country kitchen. She quickly prepares dishes without taking much time from the hostess. The mobile device is lightweight and compact, so it is easy to take the equipment with you.
Portable gas equipment is divided into:
single burner;
two-burner;
oven models.
For the operation of such a device, you will need a rubber hose and a gas cylinder. The practical equipment is easy to install. With it, you can economically and without hassle to relax in a country house. Independence from electricity allows you to cook dinner even if there is no electricity in the house.
Tabletop electric stove for giving
Hobs of electric stoves are equipped with burners of two types: flat and spiral. The first option is preferred by most summer residents, as it is easier to wash.
Models of electrical appliances with a cover are produced. It leaves the surface clean when the equipment is not in use. Like gas models, they are equipped with an oven. Such a device works on a par with a full-sized unit.
Desktop infrared stove for summer cottages
Food on this technique is cooked faster than other analogues. Features a modern look. Most models are equipped with a glass-ceramic surface, which is not afraid of high temperatures and heavy dishes.
However, the device must be operated with caution, otherwise it will easily fail. Significantly saves energy consumption. The IR oven panel is easy to clean and does not require the purchase of special utensils. Such advantages simplify its use in the country.
Advantages of desktop models
Mobile devices are easy to use and have a low cost. For a small amount of money, you can purchase practicality and the ability to prepare a full meal in the country.
Combined appliances will help get rid of unnecessary trouble. When the gas runs out, there is no need to immediately go to fill the cylinder with blue fuel. At this time, you can use the electric burner.
Exploitation
Cookers of any kind are considered devices with an increased level of danger. Therefore, it is necessary to operate devices in summer conditions carefully, observing safety precautions.
Equipment manufacturers indicate some recommendations for use:
the walls in the kitchen must be fire resistant;
the kitchen set must withstand temperatures up to 100 degrees;
the electric stove must be grounded, including models with electric ignition and a mains-operated oven;
outlets must also be grounded;
upon detection of the smell of gas, block the cylinder and open the windows in the room;
Use only appropriate cookware recommended by the hob manufacturer.
The stove in the country should be kept clean, the hob and dishes should be washed regularly. You can clean the glass surface with baking soda. All removable elements are washed with soapy water to remove scale and grease.
When cooking on a gas appliance, continuous gas supply for more than two hours is not recommended. When working with gas, it is desirable to ventilate the room. The burner should supply gas evenly, without additional sounds.
If an electrical appliance is used in a country house, after the end of the season, turn off the breaker. Do not leave the device unattended during operation.
Installation
In suburban areas, liquefied gas is more often used. The cylinder is installed on the street in a special box. To install gas equipment, reducers are used to reduce gas pressure.
Connections are carefully sealed to prevent leakage of blue fuel. The flexible hose must not be hidden in walls or furniture. It is forbidden to paint it. After installing the plate, check all connections. The flame must be even, work without soot and noise.
Installation of a gas stove requires a ceiling height of at least 220cm. The presence of an extract and ventilation is mandatory in the room.
Connecting an electric stove without certain knowledge and skills will lead to ignition of the electrical wiring and entail irreversible consequences. A safe electrical supply and installation must be carried out by an electrician.
Cookers today are presented in a wide range. Important criteria in the selection are the functionality and technical parameters of the device. The safety of equipment and the dimensions of the room also play an important role.
When deciding on a choice, you need to pay attention to the manufacturer. Models of well-known brands will be in priority. Additional options for cooking equipment depend on the preferences and financial capabilities of the owners.
For a small country house, a small-sized model with a standard set of functions is chosen. For a full-fledged country cottage with seasonal accommodation, a stationary model with many options is suitable.
A cooker is a universal household appliance consisting of a hob and an oven. Particularly distinguished among them are models with a function – convection, which provides for the forced movement of hot air inside the working chamber with the help of a fan. This ensures uniform heating of the products, preventing the appearance of a burnt base or overdried crust.
Types of stoves with convection
Convection is necessary for:
Getting a golden crust;
Removing excess liquid from the finished dish;
Baking large quantities of food.
The convection fan is mounted on the back of the oven and is controlled by a separate button.
Double heating – bottom and top, provides uniform heat treatment of products and simplifies the process of cooking. Electric stoves are equipped with this type of convection.
This mode makes it possible to cook culinary masterpieces – bake meat, fish and vegetables, bake pies, pies, casseroles and desserts, prepare dried vegetables, fruits, berries, mushrooms and medicinal herbs.
cold convection – designed for quick defrosting of products, without losing its taste.
Convection cooker heater type
In modern stoves, there can be two types of convection ovens – gas and electric. The working chamber of the cabinet is equipped with lighting, provides for simple or telescopic guides.
Gas – equipped with a burner on one or two sides – in the first case, it is connected to the right, in the second – to the left or right (the fan is not used in gas models).
Electrical – equipped with heating elements located at the top and bottom of the chamber.
Additionally, a skewer and a grill can be installed in the working chambers with convection – for uniform frying of game or meat, crispy crust.
Fan types
When choosing a stove with convection, it is necessary to pay attention to the type of installed fan.
Fans with heating circuit – designed for additional heating of air and its movement inside the chamber.
Fans with additional humidification – in this case, the heated air is saturated with steam. This creates a more efficient environment for heating and cooking food, as well as more cooking options. This type of fan is installed in expensive models of convection cookers.
Powerful fans – provide strong convection in a short time. Are established in elite models of plates.
Types of cooker control with convection
In stoves with convection, two control methods can be installed – mechanical and electronic.
Mechanical – Provides control using special rotary switches. Mechanics is used in devices of the budget and middle price class.
Electronic – implemented with a touch panel and control buttons. This control method is provided in models of the high price segment.
Cleaning method
Convection ovens can be cleaned in two ways:
Pyrolytic – organic deposits on the walls of the oven are burned when exposed to high temperatures, after which the resulting ash is removed with a damp sponge.
Catalytic – provides for the oxidation and decomposition of deposits during cooking (the inner surface of the oven walls is coated with a catalyst). After completion of work, the inner chamber of the oven requires additional wet cleaning, using mild detergents.
How to choose a convection stove
Types of plates
Modern stoves with convection are divided into three categories: electric, gas and combined.
Electrical – The hob and oven are powered by electricity.
Appliances can be equipped with 2–4 burners of several types:
Cast iron heating elements – heaters in the form of flat pancakes. They are reliable and practical, heat up for a long time and cool down slowly;
Express – Designed for quick heating of water and cooking. They have a large diameter and are equipped with a central red heating indicator;
induction – magnetic heaters, which provide fast heating of the magnetic bottom of the dishes, while the hob remains cold;
Hilight – tape heaters for fast heating with smooth adjustment of operating power;
Halogen burners work on the basis of halogen lamps, they are characterized by instant heating, immediately after switching on, and high heat transfer.
Gas – equipped with a gas hob and an oven with convection electric or gas type. Cookers with gas ovens are cheaper, more economical and more practical to use.
The main disadvantages are fire hazard and environmental pollution by combustion products of the gas mixture. Therefore, the use of such a device provides for the mandatory installation of a hood. Appliances with an electric oven are energy intensive and more expensive.
The devices are equipped with a different number of burners – from 2 to 6 pcs. Some models of appliances are equipped with multi-circuit burners for quick cooking and special heaters for slow cooking.
Combined – are stoves with convection, having hobs and electric ovens with different sets of burners:
1 electric – 3 gas;
2 electric – 2 gas.
Combined appliances combine the advantages of both types.
Convection cooker dimensions
When choosing the size of a convection stove, it is important to consider its installation location, the dimensions of the kitchen furniture and the area of u200bu200bthe kitchen.
Stand-alone slabs have the following dimensions:
Height – 85 cm;
Width – from 35 to 100 cm;
Depth – 50 and 60 cm.
Cooktop with convection stove
The working base in gas and electric stoves is made of high-strength and wear-resistant materials.
stainless steel – a practical and durable material that is not susceptible to oxidation, mechanical damage and aggressive chemicals. The stainless steel cooking base has a matte or polished top layer.
After completion of the cooking process, the surface must be washed with a damp sponge using mild detergents and wiped dry. This will help to avoid streaks, streaks and color spots.
Enamel – is cheap and readily available. This is a classic option that remains in demand among most consumers. They are presented in different colors – from white to ashy.
Despite their low cost, they are strong and durable, but difficult to care for. Enamel is susceptible to mechanical damage, corrosion in places of chips and scratches.
glass ceramics – refers to the expensive price segment. The cooking surface is made of heat-resistant tempered glass or durable ceramic. Such material is resistant to damage, high temperatures and deformations.
Glass ceramics are not whimsical in care, all that is needed is to wipe the surface with a damp sponge. The main colors of glass-ceramic surfaces are black and brown.
In today’s market offer a wide variety of modern kitchen appliances. Each of them has a unique design and technical features, which leads to confusion and difficult choices.
The demand for glass-ceramic stoves is growing, so the home appliance market is gradually filled with modern glass-ceramic products. Before making a purchase, it is important to determine the main aspects: what stove is needed, what functions it performs, for how long it is intended.
How does a glass ceramic hob work?
Kitchen appliances, which are equipped with a glass-ceramic coating, are a type of electric stoves. It differs from others with a smooth and mirror surface on which electric burners are placed.
They are divided into two types: ordinary and double-circuit. On double-circuit, the heating level is controlled, for a large pan – a larger diameter, for a small pan – a smaller one, and uniform heating is regulated for non-standard shaped dishes.
The main working elements of this model are heated instantly by a tubular electric heater, from which the heat passes through the glass and heats the pan.
The glass-ceramic hob is made of a material – ceran, which is durable and able to withstand the fall of heavy objects. In electric stoves with such a panel, either halogen burners with heat-emitting lamps or High Light type are mounted, which are heated from a special alloy tape in the form of a snake.
Glass ceramic is more economical and efficient than conventional electric stoves.
The principle of operation of the glass-ceramic panel is similar to the usual one, with cast-iron pancakes. The heating element instantly heats up itself and conducts heat in the right direction, to the dishes. It also cools down quickly, so after a few minutes after being turned off, the panel can be safely touched.
Instant and uniform heating makes it possible to cook food easily and tasty. In addition to the hob, the appliances are also equipped with an oven that works with 2 or 4 heating elements. The glass-ceramic cooker with a stylish design will successfully fit into a modern kitchen interior.
Functions
The combined hob is three gas and one electric burners or two gas and two electric. This model is designed for those places where power outages often occur, and even in such cases, hot food will be prepared.
Functional characteristics of burners:
Thermostatic functions – temperature sensors, which the panel is equipped with, control and maintain the required heating temperature. This function is helpful in cooking dishes that require a constant temperature for long cooking times.
Variable cooking zone function – makes it possible to cook or heat food in non-standard shaped dishes, for cooking in patches, or oval-shaped roasters. In such cases, an auxiliary heating segment is used, which contributes to uniform heating of the bottom along the outlines of the contours.
Glass-ceramic electric cookers are characterized by the equipment of burner indicator lights and residual heat indicators.
Helper functions can be built in, such as:
an infrared sensor for measuring the temperature of dishes, which controls the increase or decrease in the degree of its heating;
automatic boiling, which is aimed at turning off the partial heating power of the burner;
security system – is responsible for blocking a stove that is accidentally turned on, so when small children grow up in the house, this function becomes useful;
automatic cooking – allows food to cook on its own, you just need to set the mass of the product and turn on the desired mode. When the food is ready, the electronic timer will give a signal. Such a technical characteristic of kitchen appliances will greatly save the time of the hostess.
Advantages of glass-ceramic stoves
A distinctive feature of glass ceramics is thermal conductivity. It only heats the hob vertically. Therefore, the heat energy is only distributed to the bottom of the cookware and not to the hob.
The glass-ceramic hob instantly cools down, therefore, by reducing the heating power, the temperature decreases at the same rate.
Burners operate at different temperatures. For example, automatic heat reduction – the power automatically decreases during the cooking process.
The size and diameter of the heating elements are subject to change, as a result of which the heating zone changes. Cookware with different bottom diameters is placed on the same burner. This results in saving energy.
The shape of schematic pancakes is also subject to change, so food is cooked in oval-shaped pots, made of heat-resistant glass, duck or goose.
Boil control burners significantly reduce the time spent near the stove. To do this, initially turn on the low power of the burner and the tracking mode. Having heated up to the boiling temperature, it automatically decreases to the programmed one.
Ovens of such models are made with backlight, temperature sensor, ventilation, electric grill and catalytic cleaning system.
The smooth and matte surface transforms the interior of the kitchen, gives it a neat appearance and ennobles.
Equipment
To choose the right stove with glass ceramics, you need to take into account the main factors in terms of technical features, set of functions and cost.
Glass-ceramic electric stoves, with 4 conventional burners, are equipped with a mechanical or electronic type of control. Switches are rotary and touch with a timer and a display.
Usually there are only heating indicators, there are no boiling indicators. Safety shutdown, blocking of switches and control panel is not present.
Electric oven – from 50 to 80 liters with lighting and a hinged door consisting of two glasses, cleaning is standard. A spacious drawer for dishes is located under the oven.
This model is not equipped with variable heating zones. The disadvantage may be that the temperature is not shown on the display, although there is a temperature indicator.
With dual-circuit burners, they are usually equipped with mechanical control. There are indicators for heating the burners, a clock and an alarm clock.
A capacious electric oven with a volume of over 60 liters is equipped with a hinged door, lighting, electric grill and convection. Such models of household appliances have a spacious drawer for dishes, adjustable legs, standard cleaning and steam cleaning.
Operation of the glass-ceramic stove
To clean the equipment, it is necessary to use special products, because the use of conventional products can spoil its appearance.
To remove difficult dirt from the hob, you need to have a special scraper for glass-ceramic surfaces. It is recommended to purchase a steel scraper, but not a plastic one.
If drops of fusible materials fall on the glass-ceramic, they must be removed as a matter of urgency. If they are frozen, heat the stove and remove the dirt with a scraper.
To clean the surface, use a lint-free cloth, paper towels or special wipes for glass ceramics.
To wash the hob, you must first wash it with a damp cloth, and then wipe it dry with a dry towel or napkin.
What kind of cookware should be used on a glass ceramic hob?
Do not use pans with an aluminum or copper base for the glass-ceramic coating. If they leave traces, they can burn on the hob and ruin the whole look.
An enamel pan can be used if it does not stand empty on the switched on burner.
The best option would be stainless steel cookware with a flat and thick bottom.
For uniform heating without heat loss, the bottom of the cookware must match the diameter of the burner. Those pans that were used for gas stoves are not suitable for glass-ceramic ones. Due to uneven heating by the flame of a gas stove, their bottom becomes uneven, which is not suitable for glass ceramics.
When purchasing dishes, you need to choose the one on which it is written that it is intended for glass ceramics. The inscription “for electric stoves” is not suitable, because. this speaks of the purpose for enamelled worktops. Glass and glass-ceramic dishes are inconvenient to use, as they heat up for a long time and the heat does not quickly decrease.
Security
Do not test the plane for impact resistance. Any durable material will burst under frequent impact.
It is important to avoid scratches. Otherwise, this will lead to the inoperability of the hob.
If the glass ceramic hob is equipped with an infrared sensor, do not leave the cooking process unattended. If the liquid escapes from the pan, then on a smooth surface without sides, it will spill onto the floor or fall on other burners, which will cause problems in operation.
For cleaning, do not use abrasive cleaners, washcloths, metal sponges. Scratches may occur.
To avoid cracks on the surface, you can not put wet dishes on it. Over time, it may happen that the glass-ceramic coating will not withstand.
With bulk materials, accuracy is important, they should not fall on the surface, especially sugar.
Glass-ceramics withstand heavy loads, but cracks appear from point impacts.
Do not clean with dirty and dry rags, it will become even dirtier.
It is impossible for the bottom of the dishes to be with the remnants of food. If they burn to the surface, it may cause scratches, stains or deposits.
You need to turn on the burner after the dishes are already on the stove.
Even if the appearance of a smooth glass-ceramic surface is spoiled by scratches, stains, deposits, stains, the hob can still be used.
If something is burnt on the hob, the first thing to do is turn off the hob. Then, the main contamination is removed urgently on the still hot surface with a metal scraper.
When the surface has cooled down, you should use a special product for cleaning glass ceramics. Then, using a paper towel, remove the rest of the contamination in a circular motion. Wipe the hob with a clean and soft towel.
Glass-ceramic stoves are becoming kitchen appliances, which are being improved and manufactured using high technologies. Gradually displacing enameled ones and capturing new market spaces.
The main advantage, which was appreciated by all housewives, is the instant heating of the hob and, accordingly, the dishes standing on it. At the same time, it is worth noting an important feature – only the burner is heated, the rest of the surface remains cold.
Camping is impossible to imagine without fried or smoked foods: vegetables, meat, sausages. They are easily prepared with the help of modern barbecue grills, barbecue grills and smokehouses, as well as universal devices.
Principle of operation
The principle of operation of the barbecue
It is a convenient device for frying meat, poultry or vegetables. Outwardly, it looks like a box with legs, where coals or firewood are laid. When the required temperature is reached, skewers are installed on the holders.
Products are cut into small pieces. Skewers are turned over manually or automatically. Designs are distinguished by individual features, but the process is the same.
The principle of operation of the barbecue grill
The design consists of a container for coals, on which a grate is placed. Most of the models are equipped with two layers of grating, a tray, a table, wooden handles. Devices are divided into stationary and portable, gas or electric.
In the presence of a lid, the barbecue performs the function of a grill: heat treatment is carried out from all sides, and cooking takes little time. Barbecue smokes meat, poultry, fish.
The principle of operation of the smokehouse
Hot smoking takes place according to the following method: products are laid out or suspended on the upper grate, sawdust is at the bottom. The smokehouse is tightly closed with a lid, a fire is made from below.
The duration of the process is from 2 to 24 hours. The smoking temperature reaches 120°. Structures are stationary and portable.
Types of barbecues and barbecues
Brazier
Barbecues are devices for preparing dishes on skewers. They differ in the types of construction:
stationary,
portable,
collapsible,
with wheels.
In the country, it is recommended to mount a product made of stone or brick. It combines a brazier, a Russian oven, a fireplace, a grill, a brazier and a barbecue.
BBQ Grill
Device for frying meat, vegetables and other products on the grill. The device makes the cooking process easier, eliminates the need for stringing products on a skewer.
A huge variety of dishes are prepared on the grill, so small ingredients are also placed without problems on the grate.
Smokehouse
The device smokes various products, such as meat or fish. It differs from other types of braziers with an additional lid, without which the desired concentration of smoke is not achieved.
Fuel classification
Firewood (solid fuel)
Firewood is considered the most common material, charcoal is less commonly used. Solid fuel gives an aromatic smoke flavor that lovers of barbecue, barbecue and other dishes like.
But the cooking process is more complicated: it takes skill to start a fire and wait for the right time. A large amount of smoke makes it impossible to use the equipment indoors.
Gas
Fuel guarantees convenience and precise control. The mode of intensity of heating is regulated at any stage of preparation. But the cost of this equipment is more expensive, since the mechanism is more complicated, the search for fuel will also require additional efforts.
Raw materials are not suitable for smoking, where the presence of smoke is mandatory. Gas braziers can be used indoors.
Electricity
Such devices consist of a heating element and are connected to the network. Some models are equipped with spirals installed in a glass flask.
Such devices are equipped with glasses to collect dripping fat; charcoal can be added for flavor. Used indoors, but tied to electrical outlets.
Design classification
Portable
This includes barbecues and other devices that are disassembled into separate elements for ease of transportation. To use the device, the structure must be folded again. Such models take up little storage space.
folding
This design, if necessary, is folded, and not disassembled into separate parts. It consists of an X-shaped stand, on which a box for coals is installed, and a suitcase, which is placed on top.
Mobile
The design belongs to large-sized, moves with the help of wheels, is equipped with two additional supports. The principle of movement resembles a cart or a wheelbarrow.
Such models are suitable for stationary installation. The disadvantages of a mobile design are heavy weight and bulkiness. It is not intended for hiking and travel.
marching
Portable design. The package does not include a box of coals. Camping model is a stand over the fire. This is not as convenient as using a full-fledged installation, but with a minimum of space, it is enough.
Form classification
Rectangular or square
Standard form, popular among all types of products: barbecues, barbecues and smokehouses. The skewers are placed more rationally and sustainably.
Round
The shape is typical for a barbecue grill. The brazier does not contain corners and joints, therefore it is considered the most reliable. But the usable area is smaller.

Many models do not differ in attractive appearance.
How to choose barbecues and barbecues
When choosing, you need to pay attention to several nuances.
canopy
Equipping your own roof provides ease of use, but makes the structure larger and heavier.
Number of skewers
The criterion is important for barbecues with special recesses for skewers, since the number of possible food preparation places is limited. If there are no connectors, then as many skewers are placed on the brazier as the size allows.
Wall thickness
Models with a wall thickness of up to 1 mm are intended for rare use, 2 mm are designed for frequent use, 3 mm are suitable for daily cooking and last a long time.
Product material
Cast iron is considered the most suitable material for making a brazier. It retains heat well, which saves fuel consumption. The design of the product remains unchanged for years. The disadvantage of the cast iron composition is considered to be instability to temperature changes.
Reliable options are made of stone or refractory bricks.
Such materials do not change under the influence of high temperature. Heat is retained, saving fuel.
Such models are afraid of moisture, so they need to be placed under a canopy or on a small foundation.
Stationary type metal devices weigh a lot, as they have thick walls.
Which is better
When choosing a device, consider its characteristics. The main ones are:

The ceramic model consists of three collapsible blocks, which are removed as needed. The reduced version of the ceramic grill is not inferior in functionality, it serves as a barbecue, smokehouse, tandoor.
An interesting option is a brazier-transformer. It is compact, assembles in 10 seconds, weighs 3.2 kg. Indispensable for outdoor recreation.
Primo
Charcoal ceramic devices guarantee the preparation of culinary masterpieces. Particularly stands out is the twenty-year warranty, which is provided after the registration of the goods, since each product is marked with a unique number.
Furnaces are multipurpose, unite a role of a brazier, a grill, a barbecue, a smokehouse. Details do not give in to corrosion. The design feature is an oval shape, which guarantees a considerable usable area with compact dimensions.
The devices are economical – loading 5 kg of coal is enough for 36 hours.
Cooking surfaces with several burners differ from standard stoves in the absence of an oven – they are rectangular, less often square with installed heating zones with different coatings.
The most popular coating is enamel of various shades. White appliances are bought most often, a little less often – enameled surfaces of brown, blue and even orange shades. Enamelled panels are inexpensive and highly durable.
Less common is a stainless steel coating – strength is higher than enamel, matte and polished options are sold.
Hobs, including induction, have a multifunctional touch control, equipped with indicators and switches. For convenience, the devices are equipped with timers, stopwatches and various automatic cooking programs.
Types of hobs
Most hobs have heating elements powered by electricity. And they are often covered with glass ceramics. Cast iron surfaces are less common, with a high degree of reliability, although less functional.
Cooking surfaces are divided according to the connection method: independent (autonomous) or dependent and according to the type of heating element:
electrical – induction, heating elements;
gas;
combined – combine electric and gas burners, for example: 2 gas and 2 or 3 electric.
Recent developments combine glass ceramics and burners. They call them “gas on glass”. The price category is high, so they are produced mainly by large companies. Each color has its own name: “aluminum”, “black anthracite”, “cold ice”, “mirror”, etc.
Burners under glass ceramics are:
Hi-Light or tape. They heat up quickly, are easy to care for and are reliable. The heater is in the form of a high resistance alloy tape. Heat transfer is much higher than many electric stoves due to the dense laying of the tape. They warm up in 6-7 seconds and if they turn red, then it is dangerous to touch them.
Rapid. Made in the form of a spiral. Ten seconds is enough to warm up and cool down.
Halogen. The spiral works in conjunction with a red halogen lamp. Heats up instantly.
Inductive. Heats only the dishes, which saves electricity and cooking time. Heating occurs with the help of a magnetic field, which is created between the dishes and the burner. This type of heater has a high efficiency and is considered the most economical and efficient.
How cooktops work
Glass ceramic hob it is, in fact, an ordinary electric stove. The peculiarity is that it is completely covered with a glass-ceramic plate with a mirror-smooth surface.
The burners are distinguished by circles or ovals and heat up as quickly as possible. Under the top cover there is a tubular heating element, which is twisted in a spiral. Underneath is an asbestos base. The principle of operation is simple: a hot spiral transfers heat to the dishes through a glass plate.
induction hob works a little differently. Below the surface are inductors. An alternating current is supplied to them, an electromagnetic field appears under the dishes.
In the dishes standing on it, eddy currents will occur. According to the laws of thermodynamics, moving, they heat the conductors, which are the dishes standing on the stove.
Conductive utensils must have the properties of a ferromagnet, or magnetic properties.
It can be pots and pans made of cast iron, stainless steel or enameled. But definitely with a thick bottom.
Functions
In gas stoves, the gas supply is smoothly regulated, the electric ignition works in automatic mode, the gas automatically turns off if the flame goes out.
The principle of operation of the gas control function is simple. In case of accidental flame extinguishing, to prevent gas leakage, a special automatic mode stops the gas supply, without human intervention.
An interesting function of gas appliances is a turbo burner.
It is distinguished by several rows of flames, which heat the dishes more intensively.
Auto ignition speaks for itself. An element is hidden under the lid, which strikes a spark, as a result of which a flame ignites.
There are models of panels with burners for special Wok-type dishes (it has a convex bottom of a small diameter). Sometimes cooking surfaces are combined with a domino grill, double boiler or deep fryer.
The grill can be covered with glass ceramics or covered with a cast iron grate. Glass-ceramic grills (halogen or belt) have a lower heating temperature than models covered with cast iron. In them, the products will never burn.
Grills with a cast-iron grate are made in the form of a small bath, which is filled with special stones and heated by a heating element.
Products are cooked on the grill. The secreted liquid flows into the recess and is removed through a special device.
If you replace the stones in the grill with water or oil, you get a double boiler or deep fryer. But it is possible to find a device with a specially built-in deep fryer or double boiler (almost always it requires a connection to the water supply).
There are hobs with tepan. This is a type of grill. Products are cooked on a metal sheet heated to a high temperature.
All devices are divided into three types:
electrical. The surface coating can be different, and the heating element is powered only by electricity;
gas. Heating element – running on natural gas;
combined. There are several heating elements. Their ratio is different.
The design of the hobs is also different. The classic version has 4-5 heating zones, depending on the size of the device itself. The burners are usually round, but sometimes there are either enlarged or elongated for non-standard cookware.
In the style of “dominoes” – a work surface for cooking is assembled from modules that are needed. Sections for “dominoes” have standard sizes, they are easy to change and assemble again.
The choice of blocks is diverse: electric or gas burner, steamer, deep fryer, grill, tepan, etc.
Built-in cookers can have from one to six burners. The traditional option is four burners, differing in power, one of which has 2-3 rows of flame. The choice depends on the size of the kitchen, the quantity and frequency of cooking.
Devices can be coated with enamel (1), stainless steel (2), glass-ceramic (3) and tempered glass (4).
Enamel is called – the thinnest vitreous film, which is obtained by processing at high temperatures. Enamelled panels are highly durable. Apply hot and powder enameling.
Enamel applied by powder method does not tolerate the effects of acids.
Stainless steel is an alloy of several metals, the main one being chromium. And the higher the quality of stainless steel, the higher the chromium content in it. The stainless steel finish is available in matte and mirror finishes;
Glass-ceramic is a vitreous mass hardened in a special way. It is hardy, heat-resistant and durable material. It is usually used for hobs with electric heating elements, much less often for gas surfaces. The main advantage of this coating is targeted thermal conductivity;
Tempered glass is a sheet of ordinary glass that is tempered at a high temperature, followed by simultaneous cooling with a jet of cold air. It is not susceptible to thermal effects and mechanical shocks.
induction
Cookers with induction coils are equipped with autofocus function. It allows you not to set the dishes exactly according to the diameter of the burner. That is, that part of the heating circle that “feels” the dishes on itself is heated (which allows you to significantly save electricity).
Heating zones can have a different shape. For example, oval. This is considered an additional function, since in normal mode the same heating zone is standard – round. This mode is activated either by double-clicking on the touchpad icon, or by additionally turning the switch.
The auto-off function accompanies devices with an electric heating element.
It works either when the dishes are removed from the appliance, or when drops of liquid fall on the surface. In standard mode, after 20 seconds the device will turn off.
The timer is able to turn off the burner after the allotted time and signal the readiness of the dish.
Control lock – a function that is convenient when washing the control panel of the device or preventing children from pressing the sensor.
Auto boil function. At a given time, the burner turns on, and after a time (also certain), it reduces the heating power.
Cast iron
Cast iron heating elements, the so-called pancakes, are the progenitors of modern heating elements. The element hidden under the disk consists of an alloy of nickel, iron and chromium. It warms up from the current passing through it, then: the resulting heat is transferred to the disk, and it warms up the dishes.
Thanks to the cast iron from which the disc is made, heat is distributed evenly over the surface.
The power of the cast-iron heating element depends on the density of the coil turns (in any case, it warms up no earlier than after 20 seconds).
Not as common as the previous ones, but there is a halogen heater that quickly heats up and cools down. The spiral, which creates a high temperature, works in conjunction with a halogen lamp, which determines the heating rate. The characteristics of the halogen heating element are comparable to those of gas burners.
Switches on cooking built-in devices are touch, mechanical and rotary. Gas panels are available only with mechanical switches.
Sensor-based switches are installed on appliances with electric heating elements – they take up little space and make it easier to work with many functions.
The presence of a touch control panel always indicates that, in addition to the basic functions, there is a set of additional ones:
timer or stopwatch
hot plate indicator,
child protection,
amplification of the power of one heating zone at the expense of others, etc.
Most of the devices have a standard arrangement of burners. But there are also models with diamond arrangement options.
Function “Residual heat indicator”. Lights up until the temperature in the central part of the burner drops below 500C. It helps to save electricity and ensure the safety of the user.
Also, this function is convenient when maintaining the temperature in already cooked food – heating mode.
Some models, especially dependent types, are equipped with a display. It reflects much more information than conventional indicators, bulbs or scales. Thanks to the display, surface control is greatly simplified. But its necessity is justified only in large, multifunctional models with an induction heating element.
All built-in cooking panels are divided into two types: dependent and independent.
Dependent are installed together with an oven with a common control panel. Independent – are considered more convenient. They can be installed autonomously anywhere in the kitchen. In addition, independent ones are more often equipped with touch controls, which are easier to maintain and operate.
The standard depth of the hobs is 50 – 55 cm. The width will depend on the number and location of the burners. For example, a model with two small heating elements has a width of 30 – 35 cm, three-burner – no more than 45 cm. Models with a width of 55 – 60 cm are considered popular.
Models are also available for five or six burners, they have a width of 75 cm, 86 cm, 90 and 116 cm.
Gas models come complete with grates for placing dishes. They are produced in one piece (on the entire surface), individual (intended for one burner) and sectional (on a certain part of the surface).
Lattices happen steel and pig-iron. Overloading steel enameled gratings threatens to crack and may crumble. Cast iron is a more practical material, is not afraid of mechanical damage, does not fade and retains its appearance for many years.
Advantages
Benefits of a gas hob
The enameled panel with gas burners is the most budgetary. It has a small recess, so the escaped products are easily collected with a damp cloth. Steel surfaces are not afraid of bumps and falls of dishes. Easy to care for, and have a long service life (with proper care).
Benefits of electric hobs
The main advantage of an electric hob over a gas hob is safety. Gas burners are open flames and possible gas leakage. Working, they contribute to the combustion of oxygen, due to which the air becomes stale.
Induction devices are superior in their characteristics to other stoves with electric heating elements:
Economical. The consumed electricity is not used to heat the coil, but to create an electromagnetic field.
Plus, induction heating elements automatically regulate the temperature.
For boiling, it is sharply increased, during the cooking process they can turn on and off on their own, maintaining the set temperature.
They do not lose the generated heat, as the dishes themselves heat up and quite quickly.
Cookware quickly heats up food, preventing it from burning and sticking to the walls or bottom.
Work stably powerfully at low power consumption.
Safe: remain cold, it is impossible to burn yourself.
Environmentally friendly: the required heat is released to the maximum, which significantly reduces the amount of impurities in the kitchen air.
In addition, hobs on induction coils have several features that distinguish them from others:
Fast heating. For a short time, the power of the burner increases, which allows, for example, to accelerate the boiling of the liquid, then the power decreases automatically;
overheat protection. The device switches off automatically;
Booster function. Neighboring burners increase the power of one.
Most of the cooking surfaces on sale have the “convection” and “memory” functions. A specific program can be stored for one or all heating zones. This greatly facilitates the use of the device.
Problems
One of the big disadvantages of hobs, especially electric ones, is dishes. It is necessary that the bottom of the cookware is even, not protruding beyond the edges of the heating element. Failure to comply with this rule leads to the fact that the food does not warm up or warms up partially.
Induction surfaces place special demands on pans and pots. The material from which the dishes are made must have magnetic properties. For example: cast iron. The induction panel does not “feel” dishes made of brass, glass or aluminum.
It always takes time to warm up the surface.
Some glass-ceramic coatings in the center of the burners are heated up to 5500C, and extreme areas up to 1500C. It’s hot enough.
Induction in the center warms up to 900C, and at the edges only up to 250FROM.
Gas models with an enameled base are difficult to clean from burnt stains, especially greasy ones. Any abrasive detergents can leave marks on the coatings.
On steel cooking surfaces, any stain is visible, even from fingers. To care for them, purchase special detergents.
Disadvantages of electric hobs:
spilled liquid quickly ends up on the floor or countertop;
there are weight restrictions for dishes;
select pots and pans according to the diameter of the burners;
induction built-in panels are afraid of sweet drops, which, when heated, can damage the coating
How to choose a hob
The main thing to consider when choosing a device: the hob is an element of built-in appliances, so a hole is cut out for it in the countertop, indented from the wall or furniture for a gas hob – about 15 cm, for an electric panel – 4-6 cm.
When choosing an independent or dependent type of device, you should be guided by a specific situation. The dependent device (the only negative is the binding to the oven) has a control unit often located on the oven (manufacturer’s trick).
The independent built-in surface has autonomous control. It is not at all charming to buy an oven for it (if purchased, it is installed without being attached to the hob).
The type of heating is electric, gas and combined. Which is better depends on the make and model.
Gas hobs quickly reach the set heating temperature, are easy to operate and maintain and are economical.
Panels with eclectic types of heating elements are much more expensive than gas ones, but are practically safe. The rate of electricity consumption depends on the model and type of heating element.
Combined type hobs have the properties of both types.
Built-in cooking devices from different manufacturers have different dimensions. And you need to select them according to the place of installation. Dimensions are considered standard: width – 60-90 cm, depth – 50-70 cm (total height). If the hood is installed earlier, then select the built-in appliance 10-15 cm narrower.
The surface coating affects the service life and ease of maintenance. Enameled ones may not be pleasing to the eye, but they are easy to clean and are in an affordable price range.
Combined – tempered glass and enamel, look more advantageous than enameled, easy to clean, but more expensive.
Stainless steel coating is durable, but requires special care with special tools.
On such a surface stains are visible, and even fingerprints.
Glass-ceramic coating significantly increases the cost of the hob. Such devices look stylish. They heat up and cool down quickly. They conduct heat only to the dishes. The unused surface remains cold. Their safety class is higher than gas ones.
The number of burners is also an important parameter. A common pattern is four burners. Two is not enough even for a family without children, unless such a stove is suitable for giving. When choosing a cooking device, remember that some of them require dishes made of a magnetizable material, or clearly matched to the diameter of the heating element. It is good if the selected model has dual burners, or double-circuit ones.
heating type. In addition to the usual gas, there are spiral, tape, halogen and induction.
The most modern, economical and convenient is the induction heater.
In terms of heating speed, induction burners are ahead of gas burners – they have a smooth power regulator.
Pay attention to the presence of additional functions:
protection of the control panel from children (the operation of all buttons and sensors is blocked),
“feeling” of dishes standing on the surface (appliances without dishes automatically turn off),
residual heat protection function (shows uncooled sections, preventing burns),
PowerBoost (can combine heating power in one burner).
The last thing you should pay attention to is various additional functions, automation, indication and other functions that simplify the work on the device, rely on the primary functions.
Which is better
Cooktop with gas heater. It is completed with torches with power from 100 to 3 500 W. They heat up quickly, which contributes to the preservation of taste and nutrients in cooked food. Such devices are considered economical. They are distinguished by fast cooking even on a fire of low power.
Electrical panels. The heating element is always electric and is usually coated with glass ceramic. They look more elegant than gas ones, but they are much more expensive to operate. A big plus in the operation of this category of devices is the absence of gas combustion products.
Combined panels have both gas burners and burners with an electric heater. Their ratio is different. Such devices are chosen in the absence of a central gas pipeline.
The material of manufacture and coating affects the price category of the device.
The most popular are enamel. Usually white, rarely black or brown.
Metal hobs are made from aluminum or stainless steel. The latter are in perfect harmony with the sink and easily fit into any kitchen design.
Glass-ceramic surfaces are the best option. They look good and are easy to clean (with special tools). But their use requires some caution:
salt water or sweet drops should be removed immediately. Getting rid of such contaminants that have already cooled down is fraught with mechanical damage to the surface;
glass-ceramic models are afraid of impacts with small or sharp objects, while impacts of large dishes are not afraid of them;
dishes should always be dry;
Aluminum cookware is not suitable for glass-ceramic hob.
Before buying a device, determine the type of heating. The following options are possible:
traditional heating element. Standard pancakes hiding a hermetically sealed electrical coil. They differ from the familiar electric stoves only in their improved appearance. Such hobs are relatively cheap, but they warm up and cool down for a long time;
induction heating element. Heats only the bottom of the pan or pan. The heating power is smoothly adjustable. The water boils extremely quickly. The energy consumption of induction hobs is two times lower than that of the others. These are the most expensive panels;
tape heating element or Hi-light. It heats up to high temperatures in 8 – 10 seconds and cools down instantly;
halogen heating. Expensive pleasure. The spiral works together with a halogen lamp or a tube filled with gas. Such a burner becomes bright red during operation and generates a lot of heat. As it warms up to the set temperature, the lamp or tube turns off.
The best heater option is halogen or induction.
Be sure to pay attention to the size and shape of the burners. They must “hold” the dishes. The size range of burners is quite large. There are also combined heating zones: a small circle in a large one or an oval.
How to use the hob
Stainless steel. Mainly used for gas-fired appliances. It is a shiny surface with burners covered with cast-iron grates.
Care of such a coating: wipe the coating with any detergents, except for abrasive ones, and do not use metal scourers. They can leave scratches that detract from the appearance of the panel.
The main nuance of caring for a stainless surface is to prevent smudges and splashes from stagnation. First, with a soft sponge, preferably with a liquid detergent, wipe the cooled food residues, then dry.
Do not pour runaway or burnt food with water or other means.
They can leak on ignition, which will have to be washed and dried for a long time. The grate with dried food residues is soaked in a solution of citric acid. Then rinse with running water and wipe dry.
Glass-ceramic panel. To increase the service life of this device means to choose the right dishes (either a suitable bottom diameter, or a manufacturing material with magnetic properties). Allow panels to cool before cleaning. They are cleaned with specialized detergents.
The special composition of the products easily dissolves food residues, including frozen fat, protecting the coating itself. After that, a special film remains, which protects from further burning of the escaped food, and most importantly from sweet drops, facilitating care.
It is recommended to first remove the runaway food with scrapers, sometimes manufacturers attach them to their appliances. Scrapers are produced plastic, with removable blades. They remove any fusible materials: frozen sugar, drops of melted plastic, etc.
And in no case should acid be used to wash such a panel.
She, first of all, will dissolve the coated ones. The only coating that can be easily removed with a simple damp cloth is glossy.
The glass-ceramic coating cannot be wiped with an ordinary sponge. After it, there are stains from the washing liquid and / or fat, which, when heated, can discolor the coating.
Spots from water, grease or lime should be cleaned with products intended for cleaning karmic products or high quality steel products.
All detergents must be thoroughly rinsed off, because when heated, they will corrode the coating of the hob.
Burners and utensils must be dry.
The main thing in the dishes is the bottom. There are no questions about the diameter, but not many people know that it is required concave (while cold). When heated, the bottom of the pot or pan straightens, which contributes to the least heat loss.
Cookware that has been cooked on gas burners is not suitable for glass-ceramic surfaces.
On modern cookware, the manufacturer writes which hob it is intended for.
For induction cookers, cookware must be made of a material with magnetic properties. Usually steel, cast iron and enameled are suitable. If the cookware is made of an alloy, its intended use must be clearly stated by the manufacturer. Turn on the burners after the dishes are placed on them.
Guarantee
The average warranty period for hobs is 12 months. The countdown starts from the date of purchase of the device. In the warranty card, the manufacturer declares the mandatory elimination of faults that occurred during the warranty period.
The warranty will only cover hobs used for non-commercial purposes.
Repair under the warranty card is free of charge, and depending on the malfunction, at home or in the workshop of the service center.
The manufacturer’s warranty does not cover cracks, scratches or other similar damage that occurs after purchase.
Warranty repairs may be denied if:
ticket was invalid
damage and malfunctions resulting from improper use, or violation of the rules for surface care,
the fact of self-opening and repair was established,
the surface was installed by a non-authorized specialist and with non-observance of the installation rules,
controls have been exposed to water or other liquids,
the malfunction was caused by insects or animals.
Warranty obligations do not include cleaning, adjustment or other maintenance that is the responsibility of the user.
Faults and repairs
Most often, hobs with electric type of heating break. If the warranty period has expired, it is possible to deal with some malfunctions on your own according to the following scheme.
Check that the socket is working.
Then check the electrical plug and cord for operability.
If these elements are in good condition, proceed to dismantle the device.
Locate the thermal overload fuse according to the instructions. Check its operation with a multimeter. Replace if necessary.
Next, all wires and their connections are checked. After a visual inspection, they need to be “ringed” – the integrity is checked with a multimeter.
If one of the burners does not work, there may be a break in the heating element. If you have a soldering iron and the skills to work with it, restore the circuit yourself.
If the heating element has become unusable, it is also possible to replace it yourself. At the same time, check the contacts and the control unit.
In the event of a malfunction of the touch panel, it is better to contact specialists. Especially if this happened after water got inside the device.
If a crack has gone along the surface, it will have to be replaced, and only in a specialized workshop.
The induction hob has its own characteristics.
if the hob does not respond to switching on and off, the switch-on protection system may have tripped. For example, this can happen if the diameter of the cookware does not fit the burner;
the dishes warm up for a long time or weakly. The reason may be in the dishes. Its bottom must be perfectly flat, otherwise the panel simply does not “feel” it;
turns on spontaneously. There may be a metal object on the appliance, which it perceives as dishes and turns on the heat. Sometimes even salt causes inclusion;
completely refuses to work. Most likely the electrical wires are faulty. “Ring out” the circuit and fuse.
In a gas hob, nozzles most often fail. They clog and do not let gas through – rinse, wipe dry and dry well. Sometimes the piezo ignition does not work. It just needs to be cleaned up.
Many modern devices have displays that show all system errors. Each of them has a code, the decoding of which is indicated in the instructions for the device.
Hob manufacturers
There are many manufacturers of cooking surfaces, the competition for the buyer is fierce. There were even built-in appliances produced by our fellow countrymen: Darina, Gefest, De Luxe, ZVI.
Buyers, having felt the convenience and comfort of the hobs, thoroughly approach the choice. Much more often, for example, they began to choose gas devices with a “triple crown” (up to 4.2 kW). Or combined surfaces.
Not many manufacturers like this idea, but some still produce devices with gas burners and cast iron burners: Zanussi, Korting, Zigmund & Shtain or Hansa.
Gas and glass ceramics are combined by Electrolux and Gorenje. Grill tops are available from Candy, Samsung and Hotpoint-Ariston.
Stylish gas panels are manufactured by Bosch and Simens, Whirlpool.
The gas was hidden under Hansa and Kuppersberg glass. The devices were not to the taste of consumers and the Kuppersberg models disappeared from stores.
Cookers are indispensable household appliances. All processes, from the morning cup of coffee to the preparation of a festive cake, can not do without the use of this professional equipment. The household appliances market offers to choose models with different functions, original design, sizes and colors. To delight loved ones with your favorite dishes and delicious pastries, you need to make the right choice.
Induction cookers
Induction cookers are becoming popular in European countries. They fit into the interior, are easy to use and facilitate the cooking process. Induction models are made in different sizes: from small-sized portable plates with one burner, to models built into kitchen furniture.
Principle of operation
A high-frequency magnetic field creates vortex induction flows, with the help of which the dishes are heated. The flow of energy is accumulated at the location of the dishes, which eliminates the leakage of heat to the outside.
With such heating, heat losses are reduced, the dishes heat up in a short time and heat energy is saved.
Advantages and disadvantages
pros
Minuses
A practical and durable device with intelligent features.
The need to use special utensils. The induction hotplate does not respond to porcelain, brass, glass, copper, ceramic dishes.
There is energy savings due to the rapid heating of the surface and automatic shutdown, after removing the dishes from the hob.
Do not install near refrigeration equipment. This negatively affects work.
Increased security. The possibility of injury, burns due to heating only the bottom of the dish is excluded, the surface remains warm.
Models with common frequency generators for several burners lose heating power when used simultaneously.
Cleaning the work surface does not require special care. Dust and food do not stick to the panel, which facilitates maintenance.
Mains operation creates a load on the wires, with old wiring in the room – this is dangerous.
When choosing an induction technique, pay attention to:
on the number of power modes;
a model with a control panel lock function is suitable for those who have small children in the house;
choose a comfortable type of control: magnetic, touch, slider;
the size and location of the burners;
the bottom of the dishes is recommended from 12 cm in diameter, thickness up to 6 mm.
The function for recognizing the size and material of the dishes will turn on if the data matches the burner.
Glass-ceramic cookers
Over the past five years, many models of glass-ceramic stoves have been released, which indicates the demand for them. The sizes and colors of the hobs make the choice diverse. The working surface is made of glass-ceramic, so it is smooth, even and mirror-like. The burners on it are marked with a contour.
Touch control makes it as convenient as possible to use. The hob is made of high-strength material – ceran. Dropping the pan on the surface, nothing will happen to it.
Principle of operation
The heating element acts as a transmission link. It heats up instantly and cools down quickly. The heat from the incandescent spiral passes through the glass surface and heats the dishes.
Due to the heat-conducting properties of glass ceramics, heat is conducted better in a vertical position, so the bottom of the cookware is heated to a greater extent than the surface.
Advantages and disadvantages
pros
Minuses
A device with an attractive design and high strength, able to withstand containers up to 70 liters on its surface.
The use of pots, pans with a flat bottom, without bends, potholes. You need to choose dishes with a dark or matte bottom made of special materials.
Some models are able to change not only the size of the burners, but also their shape, which makes it easier to cook dishes in oval dishes (duckling, goose).
The sides of glass-ceramic stoves are so low that the “escaped” food will have to be “caught” on the floor. As a result, the work surface and the floor become dirty.
The oven is equipped with multiple heaters to ensure even heat distribution. Models are available with special supports that pull out a baking sheet.
There is no protection against point impact. When struck with a fork, knife or other sharp object, a crack is formed. The hob in this case fails.
In terms of energy consumption, this technique is economical. There are no unnecessary heat losses. There are functions of instant heating. The coating cools down quickly.
Careful maintenance required. The use of metal objects, washcloths is highly undesirable. Food residues are removed with a scraper that comes with household appliances.
When purchasing a glass-ceramic stove, it is important to consider the following points:
equipment with three types of burners: halogen, rapid, induction. The latter are considered the best in terms of efficiency and economy. But the cost with such burners is quite high;
burners with different capacities save energy. Thus, on a hob with an unequal diameter of burners, the amount of energy that is needed is expended;
ovens with reinforced sealing prevent heat loss during cooking. Some of them are able to clear themselves;
the presence of useful functions: programming your favorite dishes, timer, automatic control of boiling.
Plates for giving
Cooking your favorite dish in the country is possible. You just need to decide on the choice of technology. Usually this is a gas or electric device. Each of them is installed depending on the conditions in a country house.
Gas stove
If in a holiday village there are problems with the instability of electricity, then it is rational to use gas household appliances. When installing it in the country, remember the type of fuel that will be used. In a gasified dacha settlement, it is not much different from an urban one. In the absence of this, liquefied gas in cylinders is used.
When choosing a gas stove for a summer residence, it is worth considering:
number of people and time spent outside the city. If family members visit the dacha only during the daytime and no one spends the night, therefore, there is no need for full-fledged cooking. Cooking one or two dishes or warming them up is the main task. In this case, a desktop version with two burners is suitable. A four-burner model should be chosen if you plan a long stay in the country with the whole family;
as a rule, in stoves for country houses, the presence of an oven and grill is excluded. They are replaced by barbecue and barbecue;
plates with a small weight are convenient for transportation.
Electric stove
When it is not possible to use a gas model in country conditions, an electric stove helps out. Such plates differ in their functionality. Be aware of the presence of high-quality wiring in the room.
Good “country” models are:
equipment with burners “pancakes”. Their number varies, but any utensils are used for cooking;
classical with tube heaters. They heat up in a short time. Differ in the long operational term. Models with one burner are light in weight.
Cookers with a cast iron disc heater take longer to cool down and require special rust protection. If used incorrectly, the disc will swell and burn out.
When choosing a stove for a summer residence, it is important to study the characteristics: the material of the hob, dimensions, power, number of burners, mains voltage. It is better to purchase a household appliance in a specialized store where a warranty card is issued and a service is provided to call a wizard for installation.
On the garden plot, time flies by unnoticed, with the right household appliances, you can not be afraid to be left without your favorite dishes for dinner.
Narrow cooking ranges
Cookers are available in different sizes and even in a small room there is always a place to install it. Narrow devices are electric and gas.
The width varies from 40 to 56 cm, but at the same time they are equipped with everything you need. Depth within 60 cm, which corresponds to the standard depth of the kitchen unit floor cabinet. The height of individual models reaches 90 cm.
Common functions: digital display with sleep timer, regulators. There is no automatic programming.
Equipment characteristic
The devices are equipped with four burners with three types of power: low, medium (two pieces) and high. In combined narrow models, it is possible to install three gas burners and one electric burner. Models with two burners do not have an oven.
In narrow devices, the oven is roomy and spacious, which allows you to cook dishes using ordinary baking dishes. The ovens are equipped with one bottom burner.
Advantages: low cost and compactness.
The presented range on the market makes it possible to purchase a device of any style: from classic to hi-tech.
Useful tips when choosing
you should pay attention to the size of the oven, its working space. Ovens of individual models are affected by small sizes. This criterion is taken into account by the hostesses using this function;
if there is no need to use four burners, opt for two, which will save gas (electricity) and, accordingly, the family budget;
customer reviews about this household appliance will help you decide which model to choose.
Cookers with convection
A special method of heating an oven with a built-in fan, which ensures the free movement of hot air, is called convection. The temperature in the oven over the entire area is heated to the same value, which prevents the dish from burning. When choosing household appliances, housewives who give priority to baking focus on such models.
Principle of operation
Convection refers to the movement of hot air, which is accompanied by heat transfer. In a conventional gas stove, everything is arranged simply: there are burners below, above which a baking sheet is set at the desired height. Heating occurs only in the lower part of the oven, pastries are browned from above due to natural convection.
Often, housewives have to do a series of manipulations in order to achieve ruddy baking from all sides. That part of the product, which is located at the far wall, cooks much faster than the other, located next to the door.
Some models have a burner at the top of the oven. In such equipment, the heating elements are combined: an electric burner is installed on top, and a gas burner is installed in the lower part. An additional heat source makes cooking easier.
Advantages and disadvantages
pros
Minuses
Reduces cooking time.
High price.
In electric convection models, the temperature is set 10-15 degrees lower than the one indicated in the recipe, which saves energy.
The large dimensions of the ovens, in comparison with conventional ones.
The device is suitable for baking large pieces of meat, pies, confectionery.
Installation of convection devices requires a careful approach, it is recommended to contact the master.
In addition to these advantages, convection dries out the released juice, in excess quantities from the product, bakes bird carcasses, and makes the crust crispy.
There are electric and gas convection models on the market. In the latter, thanks to the automatic ignition function, gas leakage is excluded. There is no danger of fire, gas poisoning of others.
Gas cookers
Despite the popularity of modern electric stoves, high-quality gas models are in no way inferior to them. They are still in demand in the market. It is easier to choose a gas appliance than an electric one.
Modern devices are equipped with a special system that helps to avoid gas leaks. The electric ignition with which the equipment is equipped simplifies switching on, matches are not required.
There are three types of gas stoves:
Embedded in furniture – They are built into the kitchen set: the work surface is installed in the worktop of the set, the oven is located under it.
Desktop – mobile, easy to transport. Are established on a working surface of a table-top. Used in holiday villages, country houses.
floor standing – Full stoves with hob, burners, oven.
Work surface materials
The hob is made of enamelled material. Such models have a low price. The material has been tested for decades and has proven to be reliable. However, with a strong impact, the appearance of chips cannot be avoided, so this coating is inferior to new materials.
The panels produced with a stainless steel surface are practical and reliable in use. The metallic surface with a mirror finish gives a special look to the kitchen.
The aluminum alloy coating is light in color and looks like stainless steel.
Modern gas stoves made of glass-ceramic, heat-resistant glass are called “gas under glass”.
Since gas equipment is considered dangerous, modern models have safety features:
equipping burners and ovens with special sensors that automatically stop supplying gas when the fire can go out;
presence of thermoelectric system “gas-control”;
several layers of heat-resistant glass inserted into the oven doors.
In order not to spoil the floor with a metal support of the equipment, it is equipped with legs with adjustable height. This helps to avoid problems with uneven floors. Legs are made of thick rubber or plastic.
During operation, the lower part is very hot, the plastic breaks from high temperature. Therefore, if plastic legs are installed, they will eventually have to be replaced. One option is heat-resistant rubber.
When buying household appliances, pay attention to the characteristics: dimensions, number of burners, their sizes and shapes, hob, design, type of oven (gas, electric, combined), manufacturer of equipment.
Electric cookers
An indispensable assistant in a house where there is no gas pipeline. A wide range of presented electric models allows you to make a choice that will really appeal to the hostess.
If natural “fuel” is needed for gas equipment, then powerful wiring in the house is necessary for electric equipment. The cooker can be a single hob. Even such equipment is distinguished by its original design and color scheme.
Operating principle
Electric current passes through tubular electric heaters located under each burner. This generates heat energy.
In simple words, the spirals inside the burners heat up under the influence of an electric current. The distribution of heat occurs evenly to all objects that are nearby.
There are four types of electric stoves on the market:
Halogen – Heat up in a short time and cool down quickly. They are a type of glass-ceramic plates.
Classic – Principle of operation: electric current passes through a conductor with high resistance, due to this process, heat is released.
induction – The principle of operation is to heat dishes using induced eddy currents that create a magnetic field.
glass-ceramicf – These models are equipped with spiral and tape heating elements.
Modern electric stoves are equipped with useful features:
the oven has advantages over a gas oven: due to uniform heating of the air in the lower and upper parts;
grill function; Distinguish equipment with infrared and electric grill. It is believed that cooking with an infrared grill better preserves useful elements and taste;
the timer helps to keep track of the time required for cooking, notifies the end of the cooking process;
the display shows information about the operating mode, temperature, cooking duration;
the “built-in memory” function remembers the parameters for cooking (heating mode, temperature, time).
Enamelled models of electric stoves are equipped with cast iron burners, their care is not difficult. The material is highly durable and retains heat well.
There are burners:
express burners, used for quick heating (7 minutes);
standard burners for daily cooking (heat up in 10 minutes);
automatic, with a special sensor for determining the temperature of the dishes.
A properly selected electric stove with a variety of functions will be an excellent gift for the hostess.
