Get ready to skate

Hey man, get ready to skate.

McMinnville Parks and Recreation is offering a free spring skateboard clinic on April 2 at the Milner Recreation Center skate park.

The clinic is promoted as a way to gain confidence and learn fundamental skateboarding skills. Free helmets will be provided by Pinnacle Orthopedics and free instruction will be given by Vivid Skate.

The skate park, made available through a grant from the Steve and Kate Smith Fund, has been a very popular place for skateboarders since its inception. It includes ramps, rails and everything needed to get your best skate.

Three sessions will be offered on April 2. Ages 6 to 12 can attend clinics at 10 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. Ages 13 and up can attend a clinic at 1 p.m.

To register and insure your free helmet, contact Michael at McMinnville Parks and Recreation at 473-1212.
