Boat ramps are open and winter road closures are over at the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area beginning Friday, April 15.

All boaters on the Delaware River must wear life jackets. No recorded drownings involve a victim who was wearing a properly fastened lifejacket.

In addition to boat ramps, access roads to Dingmans Falls are open (daylight hours only). Old Mine Road has reopened from the boundary of Worthington State Forest to the village of Millbrook, and its land section by Van Campen Inn is also open.

Mountain Road in Walpack, New Jersey, is open between Walpack Cemetery and Buttermilk Falls, but closed beyond that point as well as the south end at Haneys Mill for road repairs.

Crater Lake, including Skyline Drive and upper Blue Mountain Lakes Road, is open again, with weekend exceptions (see below).

Seasonal closures

Weekend and summer closures will soon come into effect.

The Cadoo Recreation Site and Crater Lake in New Jersey and the Hialeah Picnic Area and Freeman Tract Road in Pennsylvania will close Friday evening and reopen at noon Monday from May 21 through October 2. They are also closed on federal holidays that fall on Mondays during this time.

These areas will be closed May 1 through September 30: Adams Creek Trail and its parking areas, including drainage, from the Sproul Road and Long Meadow Road parking areas downstream to US Route 209; White Pines McDade Trail parking area; and the drainage of Raymondskill Creek, from the base of the lower falls, including the pool area, downstream to the confluence of the Delaware River, including the Schanno House (former) parking area and the grounds of the west side of US Route 209 at Raymondskill Creek. This closure does not include the McDade Recreational Trail.
