Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority to Host Pop Up Vaccine Event for Atlanta’s African American Community

Atlanta, Georgia (April 14, 2022) With concerns before the holiday weekend, an effort is being made to make vaccines and boosters more accessible to the black community in AtlantaThe W. Montague Cobb/NMA Health Institute/Stay Well Community Health Fairs is partnering with Alpha Kappa Alpha to host a vaccine background event on April 16.

WHO: The W. Montague Cobb/NMA Health Institute has partnered with local health agencies and community organizations in select cities to continue educating Black communities, while making COVID-19 vaccination resources more accessible. The Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority/Stay Well Health Fair and Vaccine event is designed to bring health-related resources to Atlanta’s Black community.

WHAT:
W. Montague Cobb/NMA Health Institute will partner with the South Atlantic Regional Conference of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.® to co-host the Atlanta Community Stay Well vaccine event. To date, variations of these pop-up events have been watched by more than 3,000 people, 1,000 of whom have decided to get vaccinated and get vaccinated. Protection is crucial as Atlanta residents will be Easter holiday gathering. Many loved ones are still at risk of major complications from COVID-19. The vaccine and booster emergency is now on high alert throughout the Atlanta community.
