The Conroe Senior Center partners with the City of Conroe’s Totally Teen Camp program and collects bingo prizes as part of their community service project! Donation boxes are located in five centers from June 15 to July 15. You can drop off donations at the Conroe Senior Center, CK Ray Recreational Center, Aquatic Center, Activity Center and Oscar Johnson Junior Community Center Monday through Friday. Red, White and Blue Bingo – Independence Day Celebration

Join us at the Conroe Senior Center as we celebrate Independence Day with bingo and hot fudge sundaes. Expect lots of patriotic prizes, decorations, food, camaraderie and fun! Be sure to dress in red, white and blue. Participants must be 55 years of age or older.

Stars and Stripes Celebration

Celebrate America’s Independence at Heritage Place Park on Thursday, July 2. Activities for children will take place from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. and will include face painting, balloon animals and inflatables. The vendors market and food trucks will be on site beginning at 4 p.m. Outside food and beverages (non-alcoholic) are permitted. Beer and concessions are available for sale on site. Water Safety Instructor Class (WSI)

Looking for a fun job around the pool? Water Safety Instructors have a lot of fun teaching swimming lessons to children and adults. Swim instructors must hold a valid WSI certification. This course is taught in the “Blended Learning” format, which means there are approximately 9 hours of online material that must be completed before the first day of class. The course fee is $215. “Christmas in July” Craft Sale – Conroe Senior Center

Flick-N-Float

Grab your noodles and join us for our Flick-N-Float! look Finding Dory (July 8) in the middle of the pool or relaxing on the side. Doors open at 7:00 p.m., film begins at dusk. Adult dance – Ballet/jazz lessons

Maybe you danced when you were younger, maybe you want to try something different. This class will help you gain muscle without decreasing range of motion, strength, flexibility, increase balance and coordination, and improve posture. This class will use the art of dance to tone the body, while learning and practicing the basics of ballet or jazz technique. This session lasts 4 weeks from July 14 to August 4. Cost is $40 for Conroe residents and $50 for non-residents for a one-hour class, ballet 6:30 p.m. / jazz 7:30 p.m. 16 and over are welcome. Safely strengthen your changing body to support and prepare for childbirth. Strengthen your upper and lower body, core, and pelvic floor in a Pilates class designed to meet the unique needs and limitations of pregnancy. ** Please consult your physician to determine if exercise is appropriate during your pregnancy. ** This session lasts 4 weeks from July 14 to August 4. Cost is $40 for Conroe residents and $50 for non-residents for a one-hour class, at 10:30 a.m. or 5:30 p.m. All supplies are included. plastic arts class

Let’s be Artsy! This session will introduce clay making for beginners on Monday, working with clay and hand building techniques (no wheel throwing). On Tuesdays, learn tips, tricks and techniques for creating a personal masterpiece using ceramic paints. Art classes are offered in the Activity Center Art Room, across from the CK Ray Recreation Center. This session lasts 3 weeks from July 11 to July 26. The cost is $50 for Conroe residents and $63 for non-residents for a one-hour class, from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. All supplies are included. Youth dance

Youth dance registration is now open for Summer Session II classes at the CK Ray Recreation Centre. Take a break from our traditional spring and fall dance programs and bring your child to one of our fun themed summer dance camps. Designed to fit into your busy summer schedules, the camp will run for 3 weeks and meet twice a week and is packed with music to sing along to, dance activities and themed crafts. Tutu and princess outfits are welcome, as well as ballet shoes. Offered to students aged 3 to 11, at various times. The entry fee is $65 for Conroe residents and $81 for non-residents. Is your babysitter a “Safe Sitter?” Teens can learn the skills they need to be a prepared babysitter. Safe Sitter classes are offered at the CK Ray Recreation Center for youth ages 11 and up. The next class will take place on Saturday July 30 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The cost is $25 for City of Conroe residents and $31 for non-residents. Registration takes place from July 5 to 28. The Conroe Senior Center provides camaraderie and fun through a variety of activities for active adults 55 and older. Connect with friends, socialize and stay connected to the community. The center is open Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. and lunch is served daily. Participation is free, but registration is compulsory. senior dances

Couples and singles alike are welcome at these bi-weekly dances featuring bands ranging from country and western to Golden Oldies. Line dances and mixers involve everyone. Dances are held every other Saturday night at the Conroe Town Activity Center, 1204 Candy Cane Lane. The cost is $5 per person at the door.
