Career and internship fair to fill the student recreation center on February 22

Ferris State University students and alumni are invited to meet employers and companies offering career exploration options on Tuesday, Feb. 22, as the Spring Career and Internship Fair is held at the Recreation Center for students. A virtual fair will take place on Thursday, March 24.

Ferris State University students looking for internship opportunities to gain experience and those preparing for their career options can apply, as the Center for Career and Professional Success hosts a Career and Internship Fair at Student Recreation Center on Tuesday, February 22.

CPS Assistant Kathryn Thomas said the opportunity to meet and impress employers takes place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., when more than 150 businesses, government operations, school districts and nonprofits plan to participate.

“We will use the SRC courtyard to accommodate our employers,” Thomas said. “We hope students will find it easier to connect with participating businesses, entities and agencies by visiting a single building. We always see more attendees for our spring semester fair. This is still the case this year. »

Students who register through Handshake can view a layout of employer locations for the Feb. 22 event and use this platform to participate in a virtual career and internship fair on Thursday, March 24. Thomas said the CPS office and online Handshake conduit are valuable resources to serve students attending their first fair and those who want to launch their careers with knowledgeable counseling assistance.

“We are always happy for students to share their resume and cover letter intentions with us so they can make the best possible impression on these companies,” Thomas said. “On Friday, February 18, there will be a ‘Last Minute Resume Review and Interview Preparation’, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., in room 120 of the University Center. They are also encouraged to visit the “First Lady’s Attic”, so they can meet employers in person, or virtually next month, in professional attire.

Participants requiring accommodations to participate in Career Fair and Internship activities should contact the Career and Success Center at E-mail or by phone at (231) 591-2685.
