Acer today announced the Swift Edge, the lightest 16-inch OLED laptop with decent specs. It weighs only 1.2 kg and has an ultra-thin magnesium-aluminum alloy body with a thickness of 13 mm. This makes it one of the thinnest Windows laptops out there, and Acer didn’t have to sacrifice connectors for that.

The monitor here is a 16-inch OLED with 4K resolution, 16:10 aspect ratio and 500 nits of peak brightness. A webcam with Full HD resolution is built into the thin top frame.

The processor varies by model, from 6-core Ryzen 5 6600U and Ryzen 5 PRO 6650U to 8-core Ryzen 7 6800U and Ryzen 7 PRO 6850U. A Microsoft Pluton security chip is also provided to protect personal data and encryption keys. Depending on the modification, up to 32 GB of LPDDR5 RAM and an NVMe SSD up to 1 TB are used here.

The battery consists of three cells with a total capacity of 54 Wh. The manufacturer claims that this is enough for 10.5 hours of continuous video playback.

In terms of connectivity, on the left side of the device are two USB-C plus one each USB 3.2 and HDMI 2.1. The second USB 3.2 port and 3.5mm audio jack are located on the right side. Sound is handled by upward-firing speakers located at the edges of the keyboard. They support the DTS surround sound format.
