During the first week of pre-orders for the new iPhone line, Russians booked 2.5 times more devices than a year ago. About this with reference to the data of retailers writes “Kommersant”.

• MTS noted that more than 70% of paid pre-orders fell on the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max, and the base iPhone 14 with 128 GB of memory turned out to be the most unclaimed.
• According to Citilink, five days after the opening of pre-orders, the iPhone 14 Pro Max became the most popular — the number of applications for this model turned out to be 21% more than for the iPhone 14 Pro, and four times more than for the iPhone 14. And on the iPhone 14 Plus has the fewest submissions.
• M.Video-Eldorado also confirmed the high demand for Apple’s new products, and MegaFon noted that the number of pre-orders is comparable to last year’s level.

MTS began accepting orders for smartphones on September 8 — devices with a physical slot for a SIM card will be delivered to customers. M.Video-Eldorado has a choice – only eSIM or with a slot, and the former are a bit cheaper. The Network clarified that they account for less than 10% of pre-orders.

In Russia, MTS, MegaFon, Beeline, Tele2 and virtual operators operating on its network already offer virtual SIM cards, but this segment is not regulated by law. iPhone buyers with only an eSIM may experience issues with remote enrollment.

“Now it is necessary for it to have a profile in a single biometric system, or have an enhanced electronic signature, or register an eSIM in the operator’s salon,” the experts noted.
