Asus has officially announced the Zenbook 17 Fold, which is a large foldable Windows 11 Pro tablet. For the first time, its prototype was shown at CES 2022 at the beginning of the year, but a full-fledged presentation took place only now.
The screen of the device in the expanded form has a diagonal of 17.3″ – so it can be used in tandem with a plug-in keyboard as a separate PC or a second screen.
If you bend the Zenbook 17 Fold, then one part of its 12.5 ″ display can be used as a regular laptop screen, and the second as a touch keyboard or substrate for the ErgoSense Bluetooth keyboard. The latter has a touchpad and comfortable keys with a stroke of 1.4 mm.
The display itself has an OLED matrix with a resolution of 2560 × 1920, a 4:3 aspect ratio, a brightness of up to 500 nits, a response time of 0.2 ms, HDR support and a refresh rate of 60 Hz. Asus engineers claim the ability to bend up to 30,000 times.
Responsible for hybrid performance is an Intel Core i7-1250U processor (10 cores and 12 threads), complemented by 16 GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 1 TB of PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD memory. For battery life – a 75 Wh battery with support for charging up to 65 W via USB-C. Asus promises 9.5 hours of offline video playback without power.
The Asus Zenbook 17 Fold can also offer support for Wi-Fi 6e and Bluetooth 5.2, a 5MP camera with face recognition, two Thunderbolt 4 ports, a 3.5mm audio jack and stereo speakers.
Despite its versatility and large screen size, the device weighs only 1.5 kg without a keyboard and 1.8 kg with it. It is also certified according to the military standard MIL-STD-810H, which can indicate its reliability and durability.
The novelty will go on sale at the end of 2022 at a price of $3,499 (≈212,000 rubles).
