Reviewers of the authoritative portal The Verge have compiled their rating of the best gaming laptops of the current year. The list includes large models with powerful graphics cards and cool screens, as well as options with a relatively compact body that allows you to carry a laptop with you. In general, there are options for every taste, and there are eight in total.

Asus ROG Zephyrus G15

The authors of the rating believe that this laptop is an ideal device for gamers. It comes with an AMD chip and Nvidia graphics and shows impressive performance in today’s AAA games. The laptop is equipped with a 15.6-inch QHD display with a resolution of 2560 × 1440 pixels, a refresh rate of 165 Hz and excellent color reproduction.

Among other advantages: six speakers with powerful bass, a pleasant keyboard, a convenient touchpad and a capacious battery for more than 8 hours of operation without recharging. Among the shortcomings is the lack of a webcam, but even so, the ROG Zephyrus G15 is worthy of the title of one of the best current laptops.

The price in the USA is corresponding – from $1,999 (≈120,000 rubles). It is still difficult to find it in Russia.

Asus ROG Zephyrus G14

From the name of the device, you can guess that this is essentially a smaller version of the G15. The editors of The Verge especially highlight the modification with the AMD Radeon RX 6700S graphics processor, which can claim the title of the best solution in the 14-inch laptop category.

Due to the small display, the laptop has a very compact body. Its thickness was only 1.85 cm with a weight of 1.7 kg. The authors also note an ergonomic keyboard and touchpad, a decent set of connectors, a webcam, good battery life and excellent value for money.

The device costs from 1,650 dollars (≈99,000 rubles). In our country, only the previous models of the series are on sale.

Razer Blade Pro 17

The Blade 17 delivers some of the best gaming performance in a laptop, but its main selling point is its combination of high power and incredible compactness in the segment. It has a 17-inch screen and a body with a thickness of less than 2 cm. And a miniature charger, consisting of a single unit with a cable, makes it quite a mobile solution even for daily transportation.

The laptop is equipped with a high-quality QHD matrix with a refresh rate of 240 Hz, as well as a customizable keyboard with soft RGB backlighting for each key – it’s stylish and not too pretentious even for the office.

Despite the high cost of the laptop (from $4,300, ≈257,000 rubles), The Verge is confident that the purchase will fully justify itself. This model cannot be found in Russian retail.

Lenovo Legion 5 Pro

The Legion 5 Pro is the best gaming laptop Lenovo has ever made. At $1,500, it delivers the exceptional performance of an AMD Ryzen 5000 processor in a sleek package. Powerful stuffing provides decent results in every game that was tried to run in the edition of The Verge.

The 16-inch screen with a custom 16:10 aspect ratio allows you to use the Legion 5 Pro, including for work. The panel has a resolution of 2560 × 1600 pixels and a frequency of 165 Hz. Also praised is the keyboard with 1.5mm key travel and four-zone programmable backlighting. There is only one minus, but a serious one: a short battery life, only 4.5 hours.

The price in the USA is from 1,480 dollars (≈90,000 rubles). We already have 229,900 rubles.

MSI GE76 Raider

This laptop is designed for gaming only – it is quite large and heavy, with modest battery life, but excellent performance and a large set of configurations for every taste and budget. Its editors recommend it as a great solution for the home, when you do not need to constantly transport your laptop somewhere.

A QHD model is available, which The Verge recommends, but a 1080p 360Hz version is also available. As for the filling, you can choose from 11th and 12th generation Intel chips with a powerful GeForce RTX 3080 Ti graphics card. Of the interesting features is a stylish backlight on the front of the case.

The issue price in the USA is from $2,599 (≈157,000 rubles), while in our country it is already 370,000 rubles.

Asus ROG Strix G15 Advantage Edition

This is one of the few gaming laptops that includes an AMD processor and graphics. And this duo delivers gaming performance on par with the best Nvidia offerings. It also has excellent battery life – the laptop was able to maintain a high frame rate in Red Dead Redemption 2 for more than an hour without a connected charger.

Without games, the ROG Strix G15 Advantage Edition lasted over 9 hours, which puts it among the record holders in its class. And it’s doubly impressive because it powers a ton of bright LEDs, including a per-key RGB backlit keyboard and a colorful light bar around the front edge.

The price is relatively low – from 1,400 dollars (≈84,000 rubles) in the US, which turns into 193,850 rubles in Russia.

Razer Blade 14

This is simply the best gaming laptop with a 14-inch display that is quite capable of competing with 15-inch counterparts. It has a thin body and at the same time the flagship filling – RTX 3070 or RTX 3080 paired with a powerful eight-core AMD chip.

The screen is with a QHD matrix and a refresh rate of 165 Hz. The Verge also praised the stylish RGB keyboard and a good selection of ports, including HDMI 2.1 and two USB-C.

The Blade 14 will cost about $2,000 (≈120,000 rubles). In Russia, it can be purchased for 265,990 rubles.

MSI GS77 Stealth

If you like the look of huge RGB workhorses like the GE76 Raider but don’t like the high prices and chunky chassis, take a look at the more practical GS76 Stealth. This is a 17-inch model with a 12th generation Intel Core i9 and a GeForce RTX 3070 Ti card.

While the GS76 Stealth doesn’t pack as much power as the best devices on the market, it’s still capable of running most modern games at decent frame rates – even if you opt for the QHD display option. It does not have a case backlight – only the keyboard, which can be a plus for those who want a discreet laptop for the office.

The price is $3,999 (≈240,000 rubles).
