Xiaomi has released an improved and larger version of its Pad 5 tablet, the Pad 5 Pro 12.4. As the name implies, it is equipped with a 12.4-inch screen. There is an IPS display with a resolution of 2560 × 1600 pixels, a frequency of 120 Hz, a brightness of up to 500 nits, as well as support for HDR10 and Dolby Vision.
The tablet has a very thin (6.66 mm) “innovative” all-metal body – its flat ends and the back panel are a single whole. The weight of the device was only 620 grams.
Inside is a powerful Snapdragon 870 chip with up to 12GB LPDDR5 RAM and up to 512GB UFS 3.1 storage. The front camera is 20 MP. The main rear includes modules for 50 megapixels and 2 megapixels.
Xiaomi Pad 5 Pro also has four speakers with Dolby Atmos and a 10,000 mAh battery with 67 W charging – from 0 to 100% in 68 minutes.
The USB-C 3.2 Gen 1 port delivers data transfer speeds up to 5 Gbps and, thanks to the DisplayPort standard, allows you to connect additional devices – for example, use the Pad 5 Pro as a second screen for a laptop.
The tablet runs on Android 12 with the MIUI Pad shell, adapted for large displays. In this system, the manufacturer has optimized the interface of all standard applications and improved the functions of the multi-window mode.
The Pad 5 Pro starts at 2,799 yuan (≈25,800 rubles) – this is the version with 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage. The device will be available in three colors.
The kit can be supplemented with a stylus or a keyboard case that turns the tablet into a small laptop.
